Content editor dumping html code on edit

Hi - I've added a content block and want to add some a fairly large amount of html into this. This works fine initially and will save. However when I come to edit it using tinyMCE content editor about 75% of the code disappears. I urgently need to resolve this any ideas anyone?
I don't know for sure, but first I would double-check that the HTML you are pasting is valid -- TinyMCE will try to "fix" what it considers invalid markup, which can often lead to confusion like this. Maybe try pasting your HTML into the W3C validator, or using Tidy.
