I'm brand new to using C5 (though no newbie to PHP at all), so sorry if I'm asking questions that may seem simple...
I'm looking to try and create a custom "customer choice" option for the eCommerce package so that a product have a select drop-down (in my particular case) that would affect the price of the product. I've added a select option to a product, but obviously it has no bearing on the price of the product at all.
I've been doing some reading and peeking at code to try and figure out how the existing attributes work, but I have to admit, it's pretty darn confusing first time around!
Can anyone lend me a hand with getting started with this? I don't mind reading docs if they're available... I just haven't found anything that documents the eCommerce functionality that well.
For anyone searching - I eventually got stuff that worked, however it took about 70hrs of coding and reading poor documentation (in fact, the most help I got was from actually tracing my way through the files in the concrete directory of my C5 install).
Hi - did you find a way of creating a custom "customer choice"? Although the add-on does now allow adding customer choices to affect prices it seems there is no way to save those choices as custom attributes to apply to several products. This seems crazy. Just wondered if you found a solution.
Sorry, it's been a very long time since I dealt with this last - I believe I did build something custom. Since a customer paid for my time to develop it however, I can't post the solution.
