Database Problem

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is with my website, all I know is about when it started. Back in 2011 I upgraded C5 and there was a hiccup with that and it caused a minor issue that I have always been able to get around, but now I am up against a wall. I am not a programmer, but can read and hack code and that's how I have been able to get to this point.

The problems I am having are:
- I have been unable to run the C5 database backup for a few years.
- I am unable to install a new theme on the site because of this issue.
- I have seen minor database errors since the problems have started, but my code hacking abilities have gotten me around that.
- I want to update C5 to the latest version and install the new theme but can't.
- This is the error I get when I upload the new theme and install it using the C5 install process: Catchable fatal error: Object of class Foundation5Package could not be converted to string in /home/oregonww/public_html/updates/concrete5.5.2.1/concrete/libraries/loader.php on line 39

We are a small non-profit and largely depend on our own skills to keep the website going, so if this is an easy fix I would appreciate any help. I also recognize this might be more of an issue than we can take on ourselves and have a small budget if it turns out to be an issue we can't handle ourselves.

As long as we leave things as they are and just do simple maintenance and adding content, everything functions fine - we are just unable to make any upgrades and we are wanting to put a new theme on the site. You can see the site here:http://oregonwhitewater.org/

Thanks for any help!

Thanks to all who have replied. I have someone working on the issue and it looks like we will have a resolution soon.
