Exclude from Nav attribute not working 5.5.1

I am working on a C5 site using the newest version and I am having issues with excluding pages from the auto navigation.

My process so far:
Add auto nav to global nav block
Edit pages I want to exclude by clicking "exclude from nav" attribute and saving checked attributs
Clear C5 cash
Turn off C5 Cashing
Clear browser cash
I am not using custom templates

Any ideas on what I might be missing?

Finally got this to work, I renamed the global area used in the yogurt theme (modifying outside the core theme) and added the auto nav to the renamed global group and for what ever reason that worked..
