Featured Content Slider

Hello,

I'm looking to use a content slider like this one:

in a design for a client. Can this be turned into a block so that they can edit the content within c5?

I'm no php wizard but I know a little. Just wanted to know if it can be done before I put it into my layout.

Thanks!

sure!

Takes a bit of time but it's not a problem to create a block for this..

You can create almost anything as a c5 block.

cool!

You might want to start looking at the slide show block. It probably does already a lot which your block should be able to do..

Yea I took a look at that, and it looks a lot like the 'easy slider' which I've used a ton on static sites - & I really like it.

Just thought it would be nice for my clients to add some text/description/link to each slide as they are not proficient in Photoshop and wouldn't create informational slides.

Does that make sense??

haha!

Can you do this with the image slider block?

the slide show block only uses images right? what if a news article is required with the image

Well you can either use atributes in the images or better yet make the slider be a pagelist template :)

I actually created an addon a while back that's based on that slider. It's a custom template for the page list block.
