Well, now you have the 'Quick Navigation' bar (the little blue bar that appears on hover at the top).

You can add your 'faves' to it.

Go to the 'File Manager' and click on the 'star' to add the file manager to the 'Quick Nav Bar'. (See attachment) This applies for everything.

It may get annoying to have the 'Quick Nav Bar' appear on hover. Luckily you can set it to always show.

Do this by going to Dashboard>> System and Settings>> Basics>> Interface Preferences and select 'Always show quick navigation bar.'

Or use the 'Intelligent Search'- Search for 'Interface.'

Now you'll have the 'File Manager' and all your other faves at your fingertips.

Ah, yes. I had done this after I posted this message. I was hoping that there was a button similar to the "Dashboard" button that I could show.

This will work. On another note, it would be nice if there was a function that allowed me to add this by default to every user's 'Fav's' bar. I am developing a site that requires a very large number of 'content editors' with very restricted access so I would like to have this as the default for every user rather than have to instruct them on how to do it. (they are not really 'computer savy' users)

I will just add it to the 'fav's' bar for all of the users via some database SQL.

I miss that button too. Everytime I use the 5.4.2.x Version I'm so much faster. In 5.5 even if you have the button it still brings you away from the current site to the backend.

Would like to see the Filemanager Quick Access as it was before.
