Google not recognizing my sitemap.xml and robots.txt

Since upgrading to 5.5.2.1 google is not finding my robots.txt (yes it is there and readable). It can find my sitemap.xml but I get the following error (I have rebuilt my sitemap since upgrading and it is there and readable).

We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

I have not had this issue in previous versions. I am a web designer and have had this on the sites I have upgraded. Here are links:

Any ideas??

Both are perfectly valid. I am assuming you are doing this in Google webmaster tools?

Dido here too. Google gives a weird error:
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

And a general error of 404: Not Found.
It's there and totally accessible.

I tried uploading the sitemap.xml file again today to Google Webmaster. Oddly enough, it found no problems and accepted the file with no errors. Must be an issue on google's end.

I'm having the same issue withhttp://pdohertys.com

"Network unreachable: robots.txt unreachable We were unable to crawl your Sitemap because we found a robots.txt file at the root of your site but were unable to download it. Please ensure that it is accessible or remove it completely."

However, the files are completely accessible...

Did anyone find any solutions?
