How to add a menu item to the homepage

I am wondering if someone could tell me how to add a menu item to the header menu? It doesn't seem to be easy to find any tool in the DASHBOARD to do it...

Thanks!

You have to add a page first and name it what you want the menu item to be titled as. Then it will appear in the menu.

Yes, I guessed I need to add a page first, but the tool is not that obvious; but i eventually did it via looking at the sitemap then realized I could probably do the add sub-page from the EDIT button in the frontpage.
Thanks for the info!

Hi Ots,
If I'm remembering correctly
Adding a new sub page from the edit bar can be done... (remember to do this from the Home Page if you want it to be Top Level on your navigation).
It can also be added from your Site Map on the Dashboard (click page, choose Add Page" from the drop-down). An advantage to adding from the Site Map is you can easily make the new "page" an external link to another site ie. maybe you already have an existing blog or forum
