How to add new block from another theme 5.7

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to add the fruitful slider into the elemental theme? If you have searched the 5.7 themes there is a free fruitful theme package you can use. I really like the slider they use in that theme but I want to use that theme in the elemental theme that comes with Concrete5.

My question is how can I add that block so when i click the + it shows up . I tried putting it in the directory but I have issues with controller.php

Cheers

Generally, it can be unreliable to use a block from one theme in another theme.

Whereas stand alone packaged blocks are complete by themselves, blocks in themes often use css and/or javascript loaded by the theme rather than by the block. Its more consistent and efficient that way when several bundled blocks have common requirements. So when you move them out of the context of the theme bugs may start to appear.

From the developer of the Fruitful theme:

"For what it's worth, the fruitful slider is nearly identical to Power Slider.

Actually, it's also similar to the simple slider. The main difference is the color overlay exists and is configurable in power slider.

The slider built into the Fruitful theme package is deeply ingrained with the theme itself. Thus why standalone add-ons (such as the ones I mentioned) are great for /any/ theme."
