How to make a common footer editable

Permalink
Hi, I would like to make a footer element ( `elements/footer.php` which is in fact included on all pages) editable.

I tried inserting the normal area code, but, as I suspected, I found that the content is bound to the specific page.

How can I make it available to all pages, making, then, the footer content editable from any page?

Thank you all.

Global area:

<div class="footer">
<?php
   $a = new GlobalArea('Footer');
   $a->display($c);
         ?>
      </div>
