If i type example.com into browser it redirects to https: //www.mydomain.com, but if i use https: //mydomain.com it does not redirect to https: //www.mydomain.com

version is 8.1.0 - will be upgrading in the near future this is just a client we took on.

Any thoughts?

Usually the redirect from http(s)://mydomain.com to http(s)://www.mydomain.com
is managed on the DNS level

in your cPanel or wherever you manage your DNS you have a CNAME record for www

Somewhere you can choose to have www or no www as your default. Meaning either

http://www.mydomain.com will redirect to mydoman.com or the other way round. But I can't remember how to do that.

Anyway, this is nothing to do with concrete. Get support from your host, your domain registrar or from your DNS host!

I don't remember it it's an option available in concrete5 8.1. In recent versions you can set the canonical URL, and configure concrete5 to use only it (so that for instance users will be redirected from non www. to www. ....
