Login and bookmarks

Hi, hoping someone can help.
I have a members area setup with permissions on my site and all is working really well. I have one issue. I would like everyone who logs in to 'land' on a certain page. I have set this in the dashboard and that also works......except if the user bookmarks a page in the members section.
What then happens is he is redirected to a 'login' single page I think, and when he enters his username and password he goes directly to the page he previously bookmarked, bypassing my members page.
I would like to force him to the members page for special messages.
Any idea if this is possible?

What happens is this;
User logs on
Goes to page in members section
Bookmarks it
Logs out
Goes to the bookmarked page (via a shortcut for example.
Gets directed to the system login page (I think it's the 'page forbidden' single page)
When puts in hi login details, it takes him to the page he had bookmarked rather than the custom redirect.
This means I can't force users who login via a bookmark to my members page where I post announcements. Therefore anyone with a bookmark is missing out that page.
