making a image replace block - can any one direct me to a tutorial?

hi i have a site here:

http://www.decacake.co.uk/
i used a jquery zoom gallery that is not a C5 plug-in it works of static pictures within the theme directory.

i would like to create a block so my client can upload and change the images that show inside the gallery and the block would have to resize the image to fit.

but i am not sure where to start. i have been wanting to learn how to create blocks for a while now but i cant seem to find a tutorial to do what i need for this specific gallery.

does any one have any tutorial links on getting started. i have made my own navigations before using custom templates but not blocks. thanks

Check out this tutorial (with code available at github) which will guide you through the steps. Just switch out the jQuery library and you will be good to go.

The tutorial is for an earlier version of c5 (5.4) but it is still valid as far as I know.
