Multiple Page Lists paginating each other

Hi I have two page lists on several pages, one shows 3 'featured' pages and is not paginated, and the other shows all the items in blocks of 12 and is paginated.
When I use the the pagination on the second list though, it causes the other list to also move on to the next set of 3 featured items, is there a way to stop this?
