Multiple Upload Function not working - Won't Import from Incoming file

I think i posted this in wrong forum previously, so here goes again!

After much time spent trying to find the answer; i used ftp to upload a load of images for a slideshow to my incoming folder & thought i'd finally cracked it. Try as i might, however, the Multiple Upload function dosn't seem to want to import them to my file manager. Initially i selected all 15 (about 2-3mb) & after about an hour of the little twirly thing going round n round, noithing had happened, so i stopped it & tried again. This time i selected just 3 images (all jpg by the way) & after half an hour the little twirly thing was still going round n round............. Lastly, i tried to import just 1 image & after half an hour...... you guessed it! ..... still the twirly thing is going round n round.

MUltiple Upload should be saving me time, but what with having to ftp to incoming first & then it won't import them, i can see myself havinmg to upload them 1 by 1.................. unless that is....someone has the answer to it all!

What version of concrete are you using?
Have you checked the permissions on the incoming directory are set to 755?

Hi, the version I am using is oncrete 5 (5.5.2.1). The incoming file was set up as a default & having checked the permissions, the settings in place are 755.

I tried importing just 1 small iamage (about 650kb) again this morning using Multiple Function & after nearly 2 hours, it's still twirling around, so no change.

Did you update to 5.5.2.1 or was it a fresh install?
If you updated did you use the auto-update feature in the dashboard or did you manually download the 5.5.2.1 package and ftp it into your root/updates/ folder?
Do you have a URL I could look at?

Hi, it was a fresh install. Did it about a month ago as i recall. As a bit of a newbie, I'm not sure which url you are looking for, so could you eloborate? I can't see that the url for my website can help, so assume you mean for something else.

Sorry a bit slow on the uptake, but am learning as I go, so thanks for your help & patience!

Once again; thanks for your time & patience.

From your source code I can see you are using concrete 5.5.0 and not in fact 5.5.2.1?
So I would update to 5.5.2.1 like this:
There have been problems with auto update recently so I would advice against using it, instead do this,
download the latest package from this website (currently 5.5.2.1),
unzip the package and ftp it into the root/updates/ folder,
then run this file from your browser,
http://www.losconteros55.co.uk/index.php/tools/required/upgrade...
make sure you backup your database before updating just in case..

Ahhh, it was packaged up with loads of other sctipts as part of my hosting package & assumed it was latest release; obviously not then.

Many thanks for all your help & I will try what you suggest & hopefully post back shortly with everything functioning fully!

Hi, I did as instructed & when i hot the link you gave me i get a message saying that I'm using the most up to date version of concrete, whic it says is 5.5.0!

So, have you any thoughts on that?

Can you confirm that you have a folder called concrete5.5.2.1 in your root/updates folder?

Yes, |I certainly have & what's more, having just tried Multiple Upload again I find that it is importing images from the Incoming folder, but isn't delting them or shutting down after. The little twirly thing just keeps 'twirling as if its still working on something.

Okay
go to your root/config/ folder and find a file called site.php,
Post the contents of the last line of that file here,
Just the last line mind, not the passwords etc..
Hopefully it will be something like this
define('DIRNAME_APP_UPDATED', 'concrete5.5.0');

Unfortunately, the last line, not any other line has anything like that. Here are the headings that are there:

define('DB_SERVER',
define('DB_USERNAME',
define('DB_PASSWORD',
define('DB_DATABASE',
define('BASE_URL', 'http://losconteros55.co.uk');
define('DIR_REL', '');
define('PASSWORD_S

I've missed none out; just removed password info, etc.

That just indicates a problem with the location of the concrete5.5.2.1 package,
Just to be sure...
You did UNZIP it before you ftp'd it into the root/updates/ folder?
If the answer is yes..
I need to take a look at your file structure for myself..

I certainly did unzip before uploading via ftp.

Would a screen shot or two of the st up be of use?

A screen shot of the contents of the updates folder would be good and a screenshot of the contents of the concrete5.5.2.1 folder also..

I am looking at a picture of the public_html (root) folder?
bodkpau replied on at Permalink Reply
bodkpau
What you have is a 4 page pdf.
Page 1 shows root contents
page 2 shows root/publi_html contents
page 3 shows root/public_html/updates contents
page 4 shows root/public_html/updates/concrete5.5.2.1 contents

Basically i took a screen shot of each to give a pic of the complete structure.

As I said before, I am a bit of a newbie, so hope I've done right & do really appreciate your help.

(Like the boat, by the way - been years since i tried sea fishing)

Two things
The contents of concrete5.5.2.1 are incomplete looks more like a failed auto-update package than a manually uploaded package?
Not sure about the folder permissions should be 755 recursive (could be okay, just not sure)
UPDATE Permissions are okay..

Any suggestions on this?

For instance, would it be best to delete the 5.5.2.1 folder & then re-upload it?

As for the file permissions; I'm assuming you mean for the Incoming file? If so, I checked them & they were as they should be.

Yes
But unzip it first and make sure the structure looks like your existing installation

Well, i did it all again & same result. Get a message saying im already using most up to date concrete....etc...etc.

File structure seems correct & complete this time too, but screenshots attached in case you are able to spot something, though I won't blame you if you wanna bail out of this one now!
