Need some clarification about stacks in 5.6

Hi, english is not my first language so please excuse if sometimes I am not being as clear as I would like to be ... but I'll try :

In 5.6 I noticed a change (might not be a change, might as well be something that I've just discovered). Seems like you can add various blocks in one stack and choose to only show a specific block from this stack in a document. I find it great especially when dealing with a multilanguage site, as this avoids to multiply the stacks and facilitate the translation process. Not sure if the main purpose was this one, but it does help me a lot in that sense.

Now my problem is that I was so excited about this feature that I went reorganizing quite a few things in order to benefit from this feature.... all this only to realize that if i only include a specific block from a stack , then go and change the stack content , it does not get updated ..... Is this normal ??? If yes , what is this feature for ? If no, what am i doing wrong ? Many thanks

Ive never seen that and it doesnt make sense not to update. Turn off your cache in the dashboard and clear the cache. That may help.

All caches are turned off... and i also cleared it manually ... happy to hear that it does not make sense, it surely does not, I spent so much time organizing things only to see I have to go on updating everything manually ...

Hi There, if you change a stacks contents it will then need approving, if you go into "dashboard>stacks and blocks" and go to the stack in question, you will see an "approve" button next to it, hit that and it should update.

If you have done Vidall's suggestion and they are still not showing then try and delete the C5 cache at System & Settings/Clear Cache.
I find stacks sometime need this little nudge to get them moving.
