Page list RSS feed permissions problem

Hi all
I'm getting a permissions problem with the RSS feed from a page list (more specifically @jordanlev's page list teaser addon, but I believe the RSS code is the same so that shouldn't make a difference).
I'm getting the message 'You don't have permission to access this RSS feed' when I try to access it directly via a URL (I'm trying to pass the address to Feedburner for use elsewhere). The URL looks like this:http://www.siteaddress.co.uk/index.php/tools/packages/page_list_tea...
I've done various things, like showing the icon, copying the URL for use elsewhere then removing the icon or echoing just the $rssUrl as an HTML comment then copying and pasting that but it only works intermittently.
The only way to be sure it works seems to be to show the RSS icon permanently and take the URL from it.
Does anyone have similar problems with the RSS feed?
