Page Type Designing -- Working with Blocks

I am in the process of developing/designing custom Page Types for a current website project.... Some page types will have 4 columns across and or combination of column numbers... For example, the first line could be 4 columns across... and then line below that could be 2 columns across ... all of varying/specific widths.

Can one design a Page Type to have a "grid" of column blocks on the page?

Can one design a Page Type to have nested or blocks within blocks on a page? I ask this because the above mentioned "grid" will repeat multiple times periodically. [see attached example]

I have attached an example of the grid I am referring to above.... I am asking these questions to make sure that I design the Page Type correctly and effectively.

Any insight and guidance is always much appreciated... tga

A picture grid such as that could be developed as a single block, either directly, or using the designer content addon with some custom work on the generated block template.

A simplified version of this type of use is actually used in one of the c5 video tutorials.

I just did a quick browse through the youtube channel and cant find the video I was referring to. It was linked from the daily news popup a few weeks ago, so maybe going back through those will identify it amongst all the training videos on youtube. It starts with Andrew laid back, feet up, and computer on his lap in the c5 office.
