Performance issue

Hi,
My website has been running well for about 10 months now - paradiso.net.nz. However recently something went wrong with the Now showing page. I tried creating a new one but couldn't get the events to generate in the Pro Events List, nor the page to be recognised as a Calendar page although the "Calendar" attribute was selected. So I copied the Coming doon page, which was working correctly, and edited it to reflect what I needed for the Now showing page.
However since the issue occurred the site has been ridiculously slow. I've cleared the cache, made sure the cache settings was correct, deleted all but the last 10 versions of every page, deleted old files and ran all automated jobs. This hasn't resolved the issue.
This isn't a very big website but it is updated with new pages (retiring old ones too) every couple of weeks.
Any idea what could be wrong? I'm out of ideas.

Thank you for the reply. I think I've sorted the double up on the URLs.
The site is still really slow and if I look at Pingdom results, it seems the Equinox Theme is really slow to load. Not sure how this all of a sudden is causing an issue after all this time.
The ProEvents add-on isn't supported by the developer anymore so not sure I'll get a response from him.
I also get an error trying to update the Block Designer add-on:
"An unexpected error occurred.
An error occurred while processing this request."
Something is really broken now and I have no clue where to start to fix things? Someone please help!

no matter where I navigate too using the Dashboard.
Help, please! Things look really broken now. All I tried to do was install and update the Block Designer add-on.

Hi all,
What is the best course of action to get the site running again?
Should I try and do a new install on the server, load the DB and copy custom files across?

There are some errors on your coming soon and now showing pages. If you see the red tags:

It also looks like you have two URLs for that page list nowshowing and nowshowing-2 (page not found).
E.g.
http://www.paradiso.net.nz/index.php/nowshowing/atomic-blonde?eID=3...
http://www.paradiso.net.nz/index.php/nowshowing-2/logan-lucky?eID=3...
Maybe double check the set up of your Now showing and Coming soon pages in sitemap and the docs again, and if it still isn't working try asking the developer of the addon.
