Private YouTube videos?

I'm working on an intranet for a client and they have a video page. I'd prefer to use the YouTube video block as opposed to another video block because of YouTube's super easy video uploading. However, the client's videos need to be setup as private so only those with access can view them.

Is it possible with the YouTube video block or another video block to access private YouTube videos?

Thanks.

As far as I know, anyone with a link to a private video can access that video if that is the way it has been setup in YouTube.

Get your client to check their account, most likely there will be a visibility setting for a video to be "Limited, anyone with the link".

In which case, if the link is copied in to the block, it should be visible to anyone who visits the page of your site.

Hope that helps!

Hi TNTdesign

Heres the deal:

Youtube have 3 privacy settings, Public, Unlisted and Private.

Public: Anyone can view it, people can click through your profile and find it on your channel.
Unlisted: Only people with the link can find it.
Private: Only people you declare (must be logged in to Youtube.com) may view the video.

In your case I'd suggest using Unlisted.

It's really easy to change the setting and is obvious when you're uploading your videos.

Hope this helps - if it does, be sure to mark it as an answer.

Thanks,
Job.
