Repeating News Item

New to Concrete 5, using 5.7 latest download as of this date. I'm converting a static site to C5 and want to give them a company "latest news" block which repeats on each page, but only needs editing once. Any suggestions? I've searched the add ons for news blocks but none for 5.7.
Put a content block in a global area. Same content, edit in one place, shown on every page.
Thanks for the reply. I'm using a fork of the basic Elemental theme. Does that mean it would have to be in the Header or Footer area (which I don't want) or can I designate a global area within the main space?
OK, a bit more reading and a stack will do the job but I would prefer not to let the client do too much in the dashboard. Any other suggestions?
