Replacing files in the file manager

To replace in the file manager is great however...

I have a load of PDF's that I have uploaded to the site and when I want to update I simply replace the files.

However I have a load of hardcoded links that reference the files and even when you replace the file the file manager puts them into another location.

Is there any answer to this?

Rather than link to the file directly, use an appropriate block or addon:

- built in C5 'file' block.
- list files from set addon
