slideshow block as default don´t show on new pages

I have different page types. I created a lot of pages/content. I added i slideshow block to a page type´s default. No problem. Then I created more pages. Edited the default slide to show on these new pages. Problem. They dont show.
I have tried other type of blocks. No problem. I have tried to paste from scrapbook, no problem. Only this. Slideshow on pages created after I added the slideshow to the default.
I tried to remove the slideshow and add a completely new slideshow. same problem. It shows on the pages I created before i added the first slideshow, but not on the pages I created after I added the first slideshow.

I tried to add different slideshow blocks on different places on the page. Same result.

Have you added the slideshow block to the default page manually (edit each page and add the block) or do you have the block built into the page somehow?
Are you using images from a file set or custom?
I have just tried it out on my dev site and have no problems with it at all in Plain Yoghurt on 5.4.1.1

Hmm. The generated code lokks like this:

So the code gets generated but the images are missing. I get I big white area.
