HI, I'm building a site and wanted to download a couple of the free theme templates but I get an error message about the theme is not supported by the current version of concrete5. I'm on the latest version. How do I convert these themes...please keep in mind that I do not know a hell of a lot about IT...

That message means the developer of that theme hasn't said that it 'does' work with the latest version of Concrete5.

Version 5.5.0 was a major change and this was a requirement for all add-ons and themes. The developer either is not maintaining the theme or it may not actually work.

That said, it may work fine. If you really want to use it download via the Concrete5's website marketplace (rather than via your website) and install into a local fresh copy of Concrete5 to test.

You might be better looking for a 5.5 certified theme though. Global areas were new in 5.5 and they make it much easier to add elements that are used across your site - like a logo.
