Unique header image for each new blog post

Hi,

I'm working with the latest installation of Concrete 5.7.5.6 and previously studied some tutorials on how to integrate my own html theme (i'm building up a custom designed website built on Bootstrap 3 and plugging it into Concrete 5).

My site has a blog and my question is how would i go about setting up the blog so that new blog posts have their own unique header image. Typically any blog post on any website obviously has a main image, but here i want that image to appear in the hero area of the site (it's a full width image to appear at the top of the page). And also, how i would display latest blog posts on the home page of the site for example.

I know this may be a lot to ask, i'm just looking for any pointers or the right direction to go in. I'm completely new to C5 so don't really know where to start at this stage.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

You could try the free add-on: http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/hw-simple-blog...

Or use the tutorial, which also mentioned the free add-on:http://documentation.concrete5.org/tutorials/setup-a-simple-blog-wi...

Thanks for the information. How is this free addon different from the blog that comes with the default installation of Concrete 5.7? (i notice the default template called elemental has blog functionality). I'm still not sure looking at the documentation how i'd be able to make a given blog post image appear as a full width image in the header though. I'll work through the docs in the meantime that you pointed me towards so thanks for that :)

If you use the Elemental with full content install your site will be set up just like HW simple blog sets it up. That block is for installs with a blank site.
Either way each sets a page thumbnail in the attributes section and in the composer interface. Select your unique image there.

Then in your page install the page attribute block in your Hero area. Set it to display your thumbnail page attribute and the size you want.

Presto.

Install it on the page type in the dash and it will occur automatically with each post.
