5.5.2.1 Blank Upgrade page?

I have a working installation of 5.5.2.1 which I want to upgrade. However, taking it up to the latest version prompted an error, therefore I am now attempting to manually upgrade it.
I placed 5.6.0 into the 'Updates' folder and then went to the 'Upgrade Concrete5' page, however despite the header and the background admin photo appearing, the page content itself is blank?
Any ideas? At the same time as uploading the latest core to the 'Updates' folder, I also removed two folders which were 5.4 versions.

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply, I fortunately managed to solve it.
I switched the 'Concrete' folder with the folder from the new build, then removed the site.cfg line relating to the version, then accessed the manual upgrade URL. Solved it, fortunately :)

Are there any errors in your server logs? Did you take a backup before the upgrade?
Have you tried clearing out the cache manually?
