unable to log in. Blank /index.php/login after I moved up one directory after installing new.

I was using the downloadable.Moved files to main directory after I deleted site and had nothing. Created in sub directory.

This sounds like when you did the move you may have missed a file or folder.

If you had pretty urls on, you'd also want to move your .htaccess file, as well as edit the RewriteBase line. If you install in a folder, that'll have the folder name on that line. If you move up to the root of the domain you'll need it to be just:
RewriteBase /

I don't think that would break your site to the point of a white screen though. I'd check that you've got your index.php file in place, your concrete directory is present, with complete folders inside.

It would help if you give a bit more detail as to what is and isn't working.
Is it just the login screen, or is the entire site returning a white screen? If the site is publicly viewable still, can you access sub pages?
