To disable it you should open the CGI options from your server admin page, then PHP options.

In the ini file search for asp_tags, set it to off and save, it should do the trick.

Hi anafusion,

Someone had a similar problem recently.
https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/installation/asp-style-ta...

Doing a quick search I found this:
"Due to the shared nature of our servers, access to server-wide files like php.ini and .htaccess has been disabled."
https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111105061523AADkudb...

I recommend e-mailing Yahoo web hosting technical support and requesting that ASP style tags for PHP be disabled (through php,ini or .htaccess).

I understand that you would like to disable ASP style tags in php.ini or .htaccess file in order to install concrete5 ver. 5.7.3.1. I apologize for any inconvenience that this is causing you.

I am sorry, but it is not possible to modify php.ini or .htaccess since we are using shared servers. You will need to find an alternative methods without the need to modify those files.

That is not a reaction I expected.

There are other quality hosts out there that are in the same price range.

One I personally use and can recommend is A Small Orange.
