Assigned add-on does not appear in list of available add-ons

I don't install add-ons often. Today I am trying to install ec_recaptcha on our site. I assigned the license to the site but when I went to my Add Functionality page, the add-on was not there. I tried downloading it manually and unzipped it to both public_html/packages and public_html/concrete5/packages but it still does not appear. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

When you unzipped it, you need to put it into public_html/packages and make sure that it looks like public_html/packages/ec_recaptcha/controller.php

Thanks.  I just looked at File Manager and I show
public_html/packages/ec_recaptcha/controller.php so it should show up
but it's not in either Currently Installed or Awaiting Installation.

Make sure the addon is compatible with your version of concrete5..

That was the answer.  Now I have to find the time to do the C5 upgrade.

Thanks!
