Best way to downgrade to 5.4.1 or 2

My site is clashing with the 5.5 upgrade and coming up with loads of errors what is the best practice for downgrading to a more stable version like 5.4.1 or 2? I am just copying over the /concrete folder but is there anything else I should do?
