Blank Page trying to install 5.7.2.1

Hey all,
I have a dev account with my webhost that I was using for a big job (5.6.x), and have decided to keep is to use as a dev environment for new jobs.
I placed a copy of 5.7.2.1 into a subdomain on the account, open up the directory (where the installer should be), and I get a blank page - the source reveals that the page isn't fully loading.
Anyone got any ideas here? EDITED TO ADD: I needed to update my php version, which I did. I attached a screenshot of my php settings.

Anyone??
I can install 5.6.3 and Wordpress. Tried 5.7.0.3 and got a blank page as well. Bumped PHP up to 5.5.18 and still no dice - frustrated and don't know where to go from here.
