I did already isn't the first upgrade.
blank page upgrade.php as well
I posted 'cause I have really no time today to investigate and since all the other times worked out without any problem I thought I need some new step non included in the standard README

Thank you anyway, I will check and repost here

did mean to offend you but you mentioned that you copied the folder and asked what else it needes...

it needs upgrade.php and since you didn't mention that - how could I know that you already executed it?

sorry I didn't mean to be rude.. I'm fighting with a template and photoshop and it's getting my day.. (I'm a bit annoyed at it) not your fault... thank you for the help anyway and for the community... I noted you are VERY active

Ok found the problem!
On FC5 unzip fails to extract correctly adodb-xml and really mess up the code
so I extracted on my ubuntu and then uploaded
the broken file...
all is working now

you mean db.xml in config? that's strange...

such a basic thing must work fine on every system! I'm just using unzip on my debian box. A pretty old piece of software in fact "UnZip 5.52 of 28 February 2005, by Debian."

Have you noted this occurrence on any other files in the archive?

I'm shocked it would pick this one file to destroy.
