Blocks not showing up under Awaiting Installation

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,

I've been trying to learn about writing blocks, but a few hours later I haven't got very far! I'm using the tutorial here:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/developers/blocks/understand...

My problem is the basic_test demo block that I downloaded from the tutorial doesn't show up under Add Functionality > Awaiting Installation. It's just blank there.

My chmods are all 777 (I'm using my localhost) and I know C5 knows that it's there because it shows up under Environment Information > concrete5 Overrides.

I need to get this working so I can start working on some of my own blocks for my project. I'm familiar with other CMS's but new to Concrete5, so I apologise if it's just something stupid I'm doing/not doing (but please tell me)!

Thanks a lot for your help,

Tim

I did nothing, came back the next day and Basic Test was showing up under Block Types > Custom Block Types > Awaiting Installation. I think I was looking in the wrong place before under Add Functionality. Oh well, it's working now! =)
