c5psot.com is still around. I thought they looked like a good place to host a c5 site. So I signed up. They took $8 for my account via paypal but didnt provide any info on how to access site my FTP etc. I opened a ticket and they said they sent the info but the site had already propagated so the message didnt get thru. This is crap because I didnt change the DNS. They wanted another email address I passed it along to them Still nothing. No I cant log into the ticketing system. Argh. I would say its a scam - stay away.

Hey guys,

I own C5spot and thought I would post here.

We had a pretty embarrassing meltdown in our qMail system. In our efforts to keep the servers secure we updated to Plesk 10.4.4 and unfortunately, although all seemed to go well, our Qmail locked up do to a hidden file permissions bug.

In effect, embarrassingly enough, we were not receiving any emails or support requests.

In addition to all that, I was actually on a business trip to CA when all this happened and was unable to put my full attention to it.

We have done the following to rectify these issues, and ensure that either one will not happen again:

- put a payent retainer on a emergency server technicians for more complex issues that arrise, or when associates are unable to provide immediate attention.

- changed our server-wide update policy from 3mo to 6mo to allow plesk bugs to be worked out before updating. (we jumped the gun)

With MediaTemple as our data center, we are responsible for any and all deep apache, php, and mail bugs. They provide the scalability, we are liable for the support and upkeep.

So, again, very embarrassing. It is a good, fast, scalable solution. And we have worked out that support glitch.

Many apologies for any inconvenience this caused. If you or your business where negatively effected by this, please contact me, and I will provide you a %30 additional discount to your service for the life of your current plan.

So you leave your business unattended, and go on a trip?
I send you many presale questions about some add-ons you have on the C5 store. Never got a reaction. So there is not demo to have a closer look before a buy. So, i can say you missed some purchases from me.
Sorry to say: Could not recomm.... your add-ons, for lack on support

I see no pre-sales questions from this username? hmm.

regardless, I support my products very, very well. Hence the good product reviews all stating such.

I'm sorry I missed your questions. feel free to PM me again anytime. Also, many of my addons are on a demo page here: demo.chadstrat.com. username: demo, pass: 123456

but by all means...feel free to jump to conclusions and be grumpy :-)

be blessed.

I have been using C5spot for about 1.5 months. They just suspended my service for non-payment which is INSANE since they automatically debit my paypal account monthly. They sent me an overdue notice previously so I sent them my proof of payment and they opened a support ticket - and never got back in touch with me. A week later they cut me off even with me sending them proof of full, on time, and current payment.

Now my site/db is stuck on a site I cannot access and support emails clearly do not get answered. Better yet, I was due to deploy my adwords account this week after 6 weeks work on the site!

IS THIS A JOKE?

Just for clarity, as someone who works with WHMCS (the billing system that they use) they don't debit your Paypal account, you have a subscription that automatically send them the money.

barco57 -

thank you for the clarification. do you have any suggestions for how i can get my files from their server in the event customer service never gets back to me? i have been sending them proof of payment from paypal for more or less 10 days and i get an automatic response from their support ticketing system - but never get anything else.

If your account is currently suspended then you won't be able to get access to the files/db until he unsuspends the account.

ok,

I can respond here.

You know...when I started c5spot is was to offer really fast, simple to set up C5 sites. And it is that I believe.

However, In my efforts to set up a network of support engineers that can immediately handle forwarded support tickets, I unknowingly eliminated myself from even having visibility to those tickets all together. (very VERY stupid, I realize this.)

So no tickets were seen, thus, not forwarded and/or answered.

In addition to this, we changed payment gateways and the paypal subscription email was not being received in lieu of that.

So all this time...I was thinking "oh wow...this things purring like a kitten" while fine folks like you are busting arteries.

So, all I can do is fix these issues and try to put systems in place that assure you these kinds of things will not happen again.

Which we have.

The system is young...it does work really nicely, and there are many people that are enjoying the speeds offered. But I do understand the considerable frustration caused to a handful of customers, and am prepared to offer two months free hosting to accomodate your angst. Just put in a support ticket requesting so. (yes.. our team will get them now.)

Be Blessed,
