Cannot Install

When I try to install version 5.7.5.6 on Windows 10 I have to save a file called install and then I hit install again and get this page: well now the page closed itself??? I have attached the file I had to download and whn I open it in notepad ++ it is really weird. I don't know what the problem is but I need to get this working. Please help. Thank you.

OK, the original instaall file didn't have an extension so I saved it from Notepad++ with a .txt extension so I can post this problem.

Hi sully210,

To better assist you, please include more specific details in your question.

Did you install a local server package like XAMPP/WAMP or the standalone versions of Apache, MySQL, and PHP?

Did you follow the instruction steps described here:

Thanks for the reply. No to local server. Yes to the instructions, I have installed 5.7x on my server several times with no problem. I just got a new laptop because my other one fried. I was using Windows 7 and now I am running 10. I installed 5.6 with no problem and I am building the site on that for now, I need to get it done quickly. I did find a migration tool and a vid by Andrew on using it so I will try that on a test install when I get the time. I just don't understand the download prompt for the install.php file. Weird error.

I don't believe your local operating system should affect the installation process on a remote server.

There are many potential factors involved in why you can't install concrete5. I would recommend contacting your web host technical support. An alternative would be referring you to someone who could troubleshoot this for you for a small fee.

Thanks. I did contact my host last night and they couldn't figure it out either. I will get it figured out. I will just build it in 5.6 for now because I just don't have the time to troubleshoot. Thanks again for your help. Have a great day!
