Can't Login

Just setup C5, all went fine. Logged into site with admin account created during setup - ALL GOOD.

Setup email section, can't send via Gmail SMTP (yes my account info is correct), disabled Firewall - no way. Tried using php mailer - no go.

Logged out, tried to log in with Admin account (NO CAN DO - no account changed)..

Yuk!!!

Also, during registration for this forum, one cannot use a 2 char domain such as ".CA". Wow... what a bad idea.

Again - Yuk!!!

I then setup C5 again (brand new), same login issue - can do 1st time - then not.

Again, even more - Yuk!!!

OS: Centos 6.6
PHP 5.6
MySQL 5.6

Tried with Ubuntu 14.04, Windows 2K8R2 (IIS 7.5) same thing - exactly.

All servers are fully updated, patched and stable.

These servers all run: ZenCart, Magento, X-Cart and Modx. So these issues are not server related.

Hi
So when logging into your new C5 site, the password doesn't work second time?
Can you reset it and does it work?
Cheers
Dave

Actually it turns out to be OUR stupidity issue. When setting up C5, create an email address and password. The "Supposition" was that those elements are the Login Credentials to use.

Upon reviewing the "Successful Setup Page" we realized that the email address is NOT THE LOG IN account. Duh....

Issues solved.

Now logging out, we get:
<<<<<< Error start >>>>>>>>>>>
"The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."
<<<<<< Error end >>>>>>>>>>>

Occurs in all browsers, we will look into this' but DNS is all good (we've had it setup for eons). This doesn't occur in other sites (using other CMS products).

This is NOT a biggy... Must be something dumb somewhere.

Thanks for the prompt reply and our apologies for raising the alarm unnecessarily.

Hi

These dodgy redirects seem to be a big issue with the latest version of C5!
I'm currently sticking to 5.7.5.1 until it's been fixed.

Cheers

Thank you for this Dave. We actually downloaded concrete 5.7.5.2 this morning and so far have not had a problem at all. That being said, I think we'll take your advise and use concrete 5.7.5.1.

Out of the gate, this looks like it's the exact product we want to roll out for our hosting biz, seems to be very User Friendly and may fit very nicely with our client/user base. They have always been complaining about the "Complexity" of CMS systems - in particular Wordpress (not to bad mouth it - but it can be a little daunting).

Good to see a "Community Group" that really steps up, VERY impressive and REFRESHING.

Cheers and thanks for the prompt attention.

Now off to Tuts and Videos.
