Concrete5 localhost problems

Last night I installed Concrete5 on my localhost MAMP and everything was running fine. I was not using the "pro" version of MAMP but for some stupid reason i did purchase it and then i started it up and i couldnt see concrete5 in the localhost.
I started with created a new folder called Sites and selected it as the root folder. But later i decided to move the concrete5 files to applications/mamp/htdocs. But since then things have started to go bad.

I un-installed MAMP Pro and re-installed the software and once again i put the concrete5 file back into the applications/mamp/htdocs. However when i tried out the localhost server it didnt show any concrete5 files up it only said :
The virtual host was set up successfully.
If you can see this page, your new virtual host was set up successfully. Now, web contents can be added and this placeholder page1 should be replaced or deleted.

"Server name: localhost
Document-Root: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs

1 Files: index.php and MAMP-PRO-Logo.gif"

I've tried tried entering the Localhost:8888 and it comes up with:
Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost:8888

and when i try with Localhost:80 it comes up with the exact window where it shows the virtual host was setup successfully however it doesnt show any concrete5 files.

I've even deleted the database for concrete5 and re-creating it. I personally think it went wrong where i changed from the standard free version of MAMP to MAMP Pro.

The ports which i was using was :
APACHE: 80
MYSQL: 3306

Im no expert when it comes to all this localhost MAMP/WAMP programs but I would really like to get some with on how i could start from scratch and fix the program and get things running correctly.
