Concrete5 on GoDaddy

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I read all the posts on this and could not make it work so I spent an hour with a GoDaddy Server Admin and figured it out.

1) Follow the GoDaddy instructions (http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/4675/manually-installing-concrete5-on-your-hosting-account)
2) Before visiting the site to complete the installation, make sure that there is a file named "php5.ini" in the root. The default php ini file is named "php.ini". It is OK to have both files in the root. Upload the php.ini file, msave-as php5.ini, and add the "cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1" line as instructed, then upload the file to the server.
3) Go to the "Hosting details" tab in your GoDaddy Control Panel and scroll down to the bottom and click on "System Processes". When the window comes up, click on "End All".
4) Visit the URL where you install C5 and proceed!

Hi there,

You should submit this as a How To Guide. You'll get more karma points, a badge, and the thrill of knowing you made it easier for people to find this info.
