Copy and paste a tag in your default webpage

Hello,
I'm really new at doing this, I need your help. I was trying to add my website to Bing, Google and Yahoo. It tells me I need to do one of these 3 options below. I don't know how to do that, can someone walk me through it step by step, I don't want to ruin my website.

Option 1.Place an XML file on your web server
Option 2. Copy and paste a <meta> tag in your default webpage
Option 3. Add CNAME record to DNS

to do 1 or 2 you will have to access files that are on your server.
How did you install Concrete5 on your server in the first place. Did you put the files in place yourself?
