Dashboard not showing

Hi all
That problem seems to haunt me in different versions: Somehow, the dashboard of my father's site disappeared. Logging in works fine, even editing a page - but clicking on "dashboard" or trying to access the dashboard directly shows an empty page (no error - just a plain empty page).
I searched the forum, and tried the common solution (missing line on footer.php), but that's not it.
Any suggestions? Currently running 5.6.0.1.

On this post, ronyDdeveloper recommends "go to your sitemap & check "Show System Pages". Then you will be able to see the dashboard there. Check its permission."

If the problem persists, you may have to download the latest version of Concrete5 and replace the Core files.
