Downgrade from 5.5.0

Updated to 5.5.0, now riddled with issues. Should have waited for a "stable" version I guess.

How can I downgrade back to 5.4.2.2??

I did a Database backup just before the update, and also made a copy of all the site files... So I should be able to roll back??

Please help!

Thanks!

I too had problems, in fact...my site was 'gone' the entire day. Tried to roll back via FTP ... unsuccessfully.

Thankfully, I had backed up my site prior BUT on restore, I can only access the front end of my site but not the dashboard. I get the dashboard 'wall paper' ... that's it??

I was really looking forward to the new features ... but not this :-(

5.5.0 is complete rubbish, a brilliant CMS ruined in one swift go. I am so upset it puts a lump in my throat. Rubbish interface, rubbish design, rubbish rubbish rubbish... and I was looking forward to the next upgrade. The previous concrete5 was perfect in design, the dashboard so easy to use, even the "slowest" of clients could master it! I tried to show a client the new interface and he was lost, it was the big easy Icons in the dashboard that worked so well!

Hi, thinking that your statment his a bit over the edge and mixed with a lot of fustration.
If you take some serious time to look a the new interface, I am sure that you will find it more easy to use and more polished than before, you can even bookmark sections!
You can as well white label your cms with ease.
Its faster than before, easier than before, just need time for users to play with it and grasp the overflow properly.
Desagree completly with your (rubish) statement.

I can understand your frustration...after an entire day, I was able to 'restore' the previous version but my dashboard is gone (haven't figured that one out yet).

However, with that said, C5 is a great product with a great core group who have always been extremely helpful. Some people are better at figuring out 'glitches' than others (I couldn't)...but for sure, this will all get figured out .... I am looking forward to the new features on version 5.5. Hang in there! :-)

I don't think I would go as far as "complete rubbish"... I do agree with you that the OLD dashboard is easier to navigate. Maybe once I get 5.5.0 working correctly with my add ons & themes, I will think different.

MilHealth: I was able to successfully roll back my site to v5.4.2.2. I ran into issues with my dashboard not appearing as well. I got a "page not found" error.

All I did to solve it is clear the cache... Tricky part is you can't do that without the dashboard.

What I had to do is roll back to v5.4.2.1, which is very easy to do. All I did was comment out the following line in the config file, aka "config/site.php":

[code]define('DIRNAME_APP_UPDATED', 'concrete5.4.2.2');[\code]

Then my dashboard worked fine. I cleared the cash, reactivated that line of code, and I had a working v5.4.2.2.

Failing that, you could go in with FTP, and clear your cache files in the "files" folder... Just be careful you don't delete something else.

Good luck.

What do you mean by the following statement? Exactly how do I do this?

What I had to do is roll back to v5.4.2.1, which is very easy to do. All I did was comment out the following line in the config file, aka "config/site.php":
