Evaluating Concrete 5

Hello Everyone,

My name is Dave and I looking for a good software package to help me setup a charity site that I am very passionate about. The charity is to help people who run out of meds, get them a small refill till they can come up with a solution. Have others tried something similar? I do not know, and I honestly do not care, I am focused on helping people my way. So, I looking into the community here to see how alive it is.

I need to know if this community has a open source attitude and would be willing to work on the backend stuff and CSS etc. in order to get the site up. Why? I used to be a coder/designer, however I have been diagnosed with an illness that affects my memory and concentration and so it is hard to do that anymore. So, I am introducing myself and finding out if this community will stand behind as I try to get this charity up and running. Also, it would be nice to have the founders of this project on board.

I will be posting a video online soon that outlines my vision and the areas that I can use help in, I feel alot of excellent idea will come out of it, and one thing we will do, is contribute back to the software projects who give us the tools we need, so keep that at the top of your hats.

P.S. I will be looking for top notch video editor as well. One final note, I will be recruiting top notch advisors to oversee the project, so anyone who becomes a part of this project will not only have a hot resume, they will also have the option to become part of the paid team project I will be putting together shortly after.

The community is alive and kicking and probably the best out there. I would be more than happy to help (a registered charity). My experience is limited but I will always help where I can.

Concrete5 would be perfect for a project like this and the community is the friendliest of any CMS. You will find that the Concrete5 people are a solid bunch (pun intended) who will stand behind any project that is genuinely trying to help others.

Just post a link to your video here so we can see what you need help with and I will let you know if there is anything I can do for you.

Good luck with it. It sounds like a worthy cause.

Well, just so you know, even though this is my vision I will have a board of advisors set up for two reasons. This gives people the reassurance (the same reassurance I would want)that the charity is legit. I was hoping one of those advisors would come from the founding crew of this software. I really wanna open source this, because I would love to see it critiqued etc as it moves forward.

So, I really appreciate your feedback, and I will look forward to getting some video up soon.

Dave

P.S. The reason I cannot do code, and sometimes my emails ramble is that I have disorganized schizophrenia, and this is one of the glaring symptoms so please bear with me. :)

Hi Dave,

just to echo Wagdi's comments, C5 has a great community and lots of people willing to help out.

Out of interest, where are you based? Are you UK?
