fatal error & Warning

I friend helped me set up C5, and now has moved away. I should have left it alone, but I decided to upgrade using the dashboard button. I first made a back-up and then upgraded. All of a sudden my screen had a fatal error :
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'D:\Hosting\2355474\html\updates\concrete5.4.2.2\concrete/startup/config_check.php' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in D:\Hosting\2355474\html\updates\concrete5.4.2.2\concrete\dispatcher.php on line 11

Now I can't do anything. I know how to get into my hosting account, to look for/change things, but I don't know enough to know what I need to change. And, I can get a hold of my friend for him to help.

Did you take a backup before upgrading?

What versions did you upgrade from and to?

We figured it out. I use godaddy to host my site, and apparently there wasnt enough space to download all of the update. Therefore it was missing several files and gave me the error. We went and manually placed all the necessary files, and now it works and all is updated.
