Fatal Error in Dashboard

Permalink
Hello, hope someone can help soon!!

I installed C5 to my site and when I visit it. it looks fine. But, when I click dashboard, I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method ConcreteDashboardHelper::getDashboardBackgroundImage() in /home2/highris3/public_html/purpleonionnewburyport/concrete/themes/dashboard/elements/header.php on line 67

I visited the header.php and on that line it says:

$backgroundImage = Loader::helper('concrete/dashboard')->getDashboardBackgroundImage();

Any idea what the problem is? Am I missing a file somehow? If so, how do I get it and where should it go? THANK YOU!!!

What versions of Concrete5 are you talking about here?

I'm using 5.4.2.2

I think thats referring to the new dashboard in 5.5 which has these lovely background images.

Maybe try clearing the cache and check it again. I had the same thing on my first install but then it just 'fixed' itself up after I cleared the cache. Maybe that'll work for you too. If it doesn't then just wait 24 hrs for the new image Dashboard Background Image to appear and then check it again.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you - I tried clearing the cache a few times and it's still happening... should I upgrade?

Aha-Then I'm not sure tbh; you could upgrade but beware that not all the add-ons have been updated for 5.5 yet. So you may want to check if your add-ons have already been updated or not.
I know that '5.5 Stable' will not be ready for a little while but 5.5 is great and the stable version is certainly worth the wait.

You can try a demo for 5.5 to see what I mean. http://www.concrete5.org/about/trial/...

Maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself can shed some light on your fatal error. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Good luck with it.. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Thanks. I appreciate your thoughts! I have 5.5 on a different site (different host account) I'm editing for a client. It is very nice. I will try to upgrade and see if it's better. I'll be back! If anyone else has any ideas in the meantime, I'd appreciate the info.

p.s. ... actually, my hosting site doesn't have 5.5 available. It seems it only allows upgrades to stable versions and the one I have is the most current available. How would I manually upgrade to 5.5 without screwing anything up? Thanks for your patience with a tech-noob!

Hey all ... again...

so I decided to try and install a lower version that works for another domain (same host account) - 5.4.0.5 but I still get an error when I try to access the Dashboard ... this time:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method View::addFooterItem() in /home2/highris3/public_html/purpleonionnewburyport/concrete/themes/dashboard/elements/header.php on line 36

p.s.
As I wrote this I decided to check on my other domains and they are all messed up now. FANTASTIC! >:-(

I am going to just wipe them all out and start over. Always something... UGH! But, if anyone has any other ideas about how to fix that specific error problem, please let me know in case I run into it in the future. THANK YOU!!!

I've got the same problem on one of my sites. My other one is fine. I get the following error when I try to access the Dashboard:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method ConcreteDashboardHelper::getDashboardBackgroundImage() in /home2/whiteou2/public_html/indivoters/concrete/themes/dashboard/elements/header.php on line 67

The site is fine, but I can't get to the dashboard.

I have the same problem. I just tried to manually update from 5.4.2.2 to 5.5.0.

I get this error message;

Fatal error: Call to undefined method ConcreteDashboardHelper::getDashboardBackgroundImage() in /hermes/bosweb/web118/b1183/ipg.usfleaguesnet/concrete/concrete/themes/dashboard/elements/header.php on line 67

Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't get into my dashboard.

Thanks!
