Installation of Concrete 5 Version 8 never ends

Since Dreamhost doesn't yet have Concrete 5 v8, I decided to manually install it myself. Here were my steps.

1. download zip file to host
2. copy zip file to example_com directory
3. unzip file
4. mv mv concrete5-8.0.3 c5
5. Go tohttp://www.example.com/c5
6. Choose language and db config for new and empty db.
7. Click install

The page just spins and spins. It just says "Installing..." and never ends (been waiting about 30 -40 minutes or so).

I am also running PHP 5.6.29.

Installing Concrete 5 5.7.5.13 (via one-click install and upgrade) worked fine.

Are there installation logs somewhere that will tell me what is going on?

I also see that my db is still completely empty.

It sort of sounds like it's timing out in the background, are you able to install it with the CLI?

I had this happen to me when using a Chrome browser, I had to force a browser refresh using Ctrl+F5 to get it going.
On the other hand, Firefox works perfectly..

I finally got it going by installing 5.7.5.8 on Dreamhost. Then updating through updates directory to 5.7.5.13. And then doing the same with 8.0.3.

So, I am not entirely sure what the issue was. It certainly wasn't the browser. But I have it working now.

And it was definitely a repeatable issue.
