Installation Problem...

I enter all info needed on the first page of installation, and click "install" or whatever.
Then it takes a while to load then it just displays a blank page. I reload it again and it still displays a blank page.

All help appreciated.
Thanks

If you had no error messages pop-up, have you got the correct permissions on the directories? In the Help section it lists what you need to make writable:http://www.concrete5.org/help/building_with_concrete5/installation/...

That would be the first thing I would check.

You may have already done this, so apologies if you have!

Hi,
My permissions were fine. I had the the config and the files folders set to 755 and I didn't get any error messages while trying to install...
Ideas??

Your next step might be to check out your site.php file in the /config folder. Double check that the URL and other info is correct in there.

Is your site hosted by you or a 3rd party?

site.php should contain all your DB connection info, Base URL etc.

Are you able to take a look at your DB and check that the tables have been created? This would rule out a DB connection problem.

What version of PHP are you running?

I'm using PHP 5 and I do have access to the database and it says that there are 60 tables.

Well at least that rules out one problem...

To be honest i've kinda run out of ideas on this one. The only thing I can think of is permissions, but you've checked that and they are ok. So i'm not sure what else is happening.

A long shot, but are you able to check the web server logs for any errors? There might be some helpful info in there.

What O/S is the server running?

Also came across this:http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=229... Not sure if it will help but anything is better than nothing.

I'll keep thinking about it, but hopefully someone else will have a clue as to what is going on.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! I know these things can be frustrating. Just don't give up!

I don't have access to the server logs and I could maybe find out what the server is running. (freehostia.com) I have a look. And I'll just check out that other post that you linked to. I'll post here if I make any progress.
Thanks
