Installing 5.7.0 on 1and1

I had version 5.6.2.1 but it did not have the option to upgrade to 5.7.0 so I downloaded and installed it on my local machine and when that worked so easily I created a clean directory and db and tried to install and I followed the 1and1 install instructions but it gets half way through the install and gets an SQL error...creates half the tables and then bombs...any ideas?

Sorry the initial error was huge, so I tried it a couple more times and it finally resulted in various SQL errors....so I am deleting everything and going to try again. Clean blank install. I will capture the error this time.
One thing that people (myself included) have run into causing it to do exacty this is the PHP Memory limit being too low. While 32MB, in the past was fine, not with 5.7 (it will bomb out just like this), Increasing it to 128MB solved the problem.
My php setting is
memory_limit - 41943040

I don't know the minimum. I know 32MB failed. I increased to 128MB and that solved the problem. I haven't tried to figure out more precisely.
If I'm not mistaken, the setting is only a "limit" or threshold, so I figured, even if 64MB turns out to be enough, why not go up to 128MB to be safe?

I ran into the same issue when installing the 5.7 version with sample data. using the package with no sample data worked fine for me.
Yeah I was finally able to get it to install, but like you said I had to do a clean install. So I am guessing that it must have to do with the size limitations of the server environment.
SUMMARY: Installing a clean C5.7.0 on 1and1 server just make sure you do a clean install with no example data.
