Internal Server Error during installation

Hey all. I was hoping some bright spark might be able to help me. I am trying to do a fresh install of version 5.7.5.8. It seems to go smoothly up to the "Adding block types" section of the progress bar. After about 3 or 4 minutes of no progress the page throws up an internal server error, contact admin etc.

I have been in touch with my hosts (Vidahost) tech team who cant get any further than I can. Its odd as about a year ago it installed fine on their system on another domain. Obviously an older version. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any suggestions? The tech team seem to say its a fault in the installation script, but if that were true I am sure the forums would be inundated with similar posts.

I did have a previous issue before this one but that was resolved by changing the session handle to database. This allowed the script to progress a bit further upto the previously mentioned "adding block types".

Thank you in advance

Jay

Also i should of mentioned one of the things I have tried was changing the execution time in the php.ini to 120 instead of the default 60 but that didn't help really.
