Moving slowly to new version

Hi,
I've got my site running athttp://laboiteaphysique.fr/site/... : Concrete5 (5.6.3.4) is inside the directory "/site/". I want to move to new version of Concrete5. Is it possible to create a new directory like "/site2/" with new version of concrete5 inside. (I guess I need another database for it ?) : I'd like to move progressively to the new version while keeping the actual site running on 5.6.3.4

And it works :
the old one (in 5.6) is still alive :http://laboiteaphysique.fr/site/...
and the new one (in 5.8.1) is starting :http://laboiteaphysique.fr/site2/...
It just requires a second data base
