New 5.7 Install default theme contents doubled

Having tried a test install of 5.7 in which everything eventually installed OK. I removed the test install and I have now done a new install in my domain root to eventually go live. But various things in the default Elemental theme are doubled, two navigation sections, two footers with all the content. Also if I create a new page then go to the page attributes all the fields are doubled, page name etc.

I am guessing the install did not go correctly and I will need to delete it, drop the DB tables and do it again?

Thanks for any help.

I have tried reinstalling concrete 2 more times, each time deleting the install from the server, uploading it again, dropping the tables from the database, each time I get the same thing.

Here are two images that show what is happening, intact all the data on the pages is doubled.

Try deleting and recreating the database before reinstalling.

Good idea, thanks. I have done that today and have decided just to do the empty install without content. So far everything seems to be OK.
